6. Your content
You may choose a username and an avatar from a fixed set. You grant us a licence to display them on your profile and on leaderboards for as long as the account exists. You retain any rights you have in the name itself.
Terms of Service
These terms govern the use of Pianify. Creating an account constitutes acceptance. Playing without an account is not subject to these terms, except for acceptable use of the site itself.
1. Provider
Pianify is provided by a private individual resident in Hungary. The service is free of charge. There is no shop, subscription or advertising on this site. Optional tips via Ko-fi are voluntary, are made off this site, and do not unlock features. Further provider details are in the Imprint.
Pianify is not affiliated with pianify.app or with any downloadable Pianify mobile application. Those are separate products that we do not operate.
2. Accounts
You must be at least 13 years old to create an account. One person may hold one account. The email address must be one you can receive mail at. Keep your password confidential; activity on the account is treated as yours. If you believe the account has been compromised, change the password (this signs out other devices) and write to info@pianify.net.
3. Usernames
Usernames are public. You may change yours once every 30 days if the new name is not held by another active or suspended account. The previous name then becomes free for others. Changing a name does not move or delete scores; they stay on this account. We may refuse or reset a username that impersonates another person or the service, that is abusive or sexual, that promotes hate or violence, or that uses a reserved name (for example admin, support, Pianify). Circumvention by lookalike characters is treated the same way. Resetting a name does not delete the account or its results.
4. Acceptable use
You may not scrape or bulk-download the arrangements, redistribute material obtained from this site, attack or probe the service, access another person's account, or automate play in order to appear on a leaderboard.
5. Leaderboards
A result is ranked only if, for the whole run, speed was at least 100%, autoplay, wait mode and assists were off, nothing was skipped, the piece was played through, and the run used a one-time play token issued by this site. These conditions are checked on our servers. A score that could not have been produced by playing the piece is refused.
Practice tools (including wait mode, reduced speed and assists) remain available; using them simply means the run is not ranked. Manipulating a submission leads to removal of the score; repeated manipulation may lead to closure of the account.
7. Intellectual property
The site's code, design and text belong to a private individual resident in Hungary. The recorded piano is Salamander Grand Piano V3 by Alexander Holm, used under CC BY 3.0. The arrangements belong to Atlantic Notes. The songs they arrange remain with their rightsholders. See Copyright.
8. Liability
The service is provided as is. We do not warrant uninterrupted availability or that scores will not be lost.
Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for wilful misconduct, or for any liability that cannot be excluded under applicable law. Beyond that, and to the extent permitted for a free service, our liability is limited.
If you are a consumer, mandatory rights under the law of your country of residence are unaffected.
9. Termination
You may delete your account at any time from your profile. Deletion signs you out everywhere and removes your results from leaderboards. For 30 days we may retain identifiers so an accidental deletion can be reversed on request to info@pianify.net; after that the account cannot be restored. We may suspend or close an account that breaches these terms. Except in serious cases or where we must act immediately, we will give reasons. See Copyright (complaints).

11. Changes and governing law
We will notify you in the service before a material change to these terms takes effect.
These terms are governed by Hungarian law. If you are a consumer resident in another EU Member State, you retain the protection of that State's mandatory rules and may bring proceedings in its courts.
